How to start

  1. 1

Pick TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts, your budget and how long it runs

    • 72 hours for a trailer drop or opening weekend
    • 7 or 14 days to build up to release day
  2. 2

Target the countries where your film opens

    • Worldwide, one of 24 countries or a region
    • Choose the age range and gender of the creators
  3. 3

Paste your trailer post or a song from the soundtrack. Checkout turns the link into the campaign sound.

No song needed: any sound from your film works. Then give creators one format they can copy.

    Text on screen
A prompt the film raises, like a horror fear or a “3 rules” list, so every creator gives their own answer.
    Copy a reference video
One clear example to recreate with the trailer’s sound. It fills fastest.
    Lip-sync a line
A famous line from the trailer, often with a transition.
    Photo carousel
Photos with the film’s hashtag and the release date on screen.
    Talk to camera
Reviews, reactions and theories, with no sound. For a trailer that isn’t out yet, set up by our team.
  4. 4

Our team watches every video and makes sure it follows your directions

    • Creators who don't follow your directions don't get paid
    • After booking, you'll get a live dashboard to monitor your campaign
    • Your campaign goes live right after checkout, and the first creator posts usually land the same day

Any part of your film works

The trailer, a famous line or a song from the soundtrack. Paste the TikTok or YouTube link and you’re live. No sound? Creators green-screen your trailer, react to it or talk about your film on camera, with your hashtag and release date. Questions? Email us at promote@sound.me.

FAQ

How much does it cost to promote a movie on TikTok?

Budgets start at $250, with $100 for a first campaign in the 48 hours after sign-up. You choose the budget and how long it runs, and creators are paid from the views their approved videos get.

Do I need a sound to promote my movie?

No song is needed. Paste the link to your trailer on TikTok or YouTube and checkout turns it into the campaign sound. If the trailer isn’t out yet, email promote@sound.me and the team can run the campaign with no sound: creators talk on camera about the film with your hashtag and release date.

Does TikTok promotion work for movies?

It can put a film in front of many people at once: the film and series campaigns on this page reached 39,000 to 13.1 million views each. It doesn’t guarantee ticket sales or streams. Give creators a simple format, the film’s hashtag and the release date.

Can creators use clips from my movie?

Only clips you give them and have the rights to share. Sound.me doesn’t license footage or music. Most movie campaigns use the trailer’s own sound or a soundtrack song, which creators add inside TikTok, Instagram or YouTube.

Can I promote an independent film?

Yes, from $250. Creators choose the campaigns they join, so a lesser-known title can take longer to fill: give them one easy format and a clear hook, and pick a 7- or 14-day run.

Can I target the countries where my film is released?

Yes. A campaign can target worldwide, one of 24 countries, or a region, and you can set creator age, gender, language and size. Each campaign runs on one platform.

Is this the same as TikTok ads?

No. Creators post on their own accounts to their own audiences. Sound.me campaigns are organic creator posts, not ad placements.
